Cook hand-raised these kittens, intending to find these kittens a home, but quickly learned that she could not give them up) the kitties are named Goose and Belle. The Cook family also includes two “foster failure” cats (meaning that Dr. Cook, and her husband, Matt, can be found with a cup of coffee, a good book, and plans to get outdoors to enjoy the day. Cook also enjoys traveling, photography, and attempts at learning to cook. Cook can be found spending time with family, working at the family ranch in West Texas, or snuggling her daughter, Sarah who was born in 2018. Cook and her family love being a part of the Plano community. Cook also learned just how cold winters away from Texas can get!ĭr. Prior to starting veterinary school at Texas A&M, she lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a year where she learned to appreciate the rich culture and history that that area has to offer. She returned to school at the University of Texas at Dallas to complete her pre-veterinary science courses while working at veterinary hospitals and a human pharmacy in the DFW Metroplex. She thoroughly enjoyed her liberal arts education and spent a semester abroad in Rome, Italy. She graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. She appreciates how unique and different each day is in the veterinary hospital, finds her work, patients, and clients very fulfilling, and genuinely likes to study and keep up with the latest changes in the veterinary world.ĭr. Cook particularly enjoys the educational aspect of her profession, taking time to listen to her clients and making sure they understand their pets’ medical needs. She looks forward to developing lifelong relationships with her clients, their families, and their furry friends through education, collaboration, and open communication.ĭr. She has had many special dogs and cats in her life and understands that they are family. Cook has a passion for the human-animal bond: the special relationship between pets and their people. Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, neurology, ophthalmology, and preventative medicine.ĭr. She joined Animal Medical Center of Plano in June of 2015. Rachel Sudderth Cook graduated from Texas A&M University and is a proud Aggie.
